Vasant Vihar is an exclusive neighborhood located in the South West Delhi district of National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Vasant Vihar is one of the most expensive residential areas in the world [1] and is home to notable personalities, like Social Anthropologist Professor Dipankar Gupta and international sports shooter Vikram Bhatnagar. It houses various shopping malls such as DLF Emporio and DLF Promenade.

It is located near the diplomatic area of Chanakyapuri, and is close to the airport and business hub of Gurgaon. It houses many diplomatic missions of foreign countries [2].

It houses the Holy Angels Hospital.

Overview

The three main streets in Vasant-Vihar are "Munirka Marg", Poorvi Marg and Paschimi Marg, literally Eastern and Western Street, that along Palam Marg form a rough triangle that encloses much of the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is primarily residential and when first planned consisted of six blocks named A to F, with each block having its own local market. Houses located on Palam Marg consist of some of the most expensive real estate in the NCR region. Vasant vihar is the 16th most expensive residential area in the world.

The area nearby contains the residential colonies for employees of Air India, Indian Airlines, Central Bureau of Investigation, Parliament

At the edge of the neighbourhood, across the Outer Ring Road lies, the Uttara Swami Malai Temple on a small hillock. There is also a historic church located in Vasant Vihar, as well as some Mughal era monuments.

Education

Vasant Vihar also has few leading schools such as Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Modern School, The Shri Ram School (Junior Wing) Tagore International School, Guru Harksrihan Public School, Holy Child Auxilium School (Senior branch), Delhi Public School (Junior Branch), DAV, Upras Vidyalaya etc.
